Foreground, Middle-ground & Background

Today in art, the 6th graders practiced drawing using a foreground, middle-ground and background. Beautiful start so far, next week they will finish up painting them in watercolor, using warm colors and tones on the foreground and background, and cool colors and tones on the middle-ground.

I love the way they turned out, the colors are so vibrant, and the 6th graders were really great at handling liquid watercolor, which can be difficult for beginners.
