Munch "Scream" portraits

5th graders learned about the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch just in time for Halloween. They drew themselves screaming, and used oil pastels to fill in details in the foreground and background. They painted overtop with watercolor for the last details. They were appropriately spooky for Halloween!

5th grade fall trees

5th graders learned how to blend paint colors, starting in the middle with white, then yellow, and on the outside with red. They blended them altogether to make a pretty sunny background for their fall trees. They drew then cut a tree shape out of black paper then added some details once they glued them with paint.

Fall Landscapes

2nd, 3rd and 4th graders created these serene fall landscapes using warm and cool colors. They traced their drawings first with sharpies, added some small details with crayons then painted them with watercolor.

Monochromatic Self Portraits

To start off the school year at Red Lion Elementary School, 1st - 5th graders learned how to draw self portraits, and colored them in with markers, crayons and colored pencils in tints and shades of their assigned colors. 1st had red, 2nd had orange, 3rd had yellow, 4th had green, 5th had blue. They decorated the backgrounds with different bright patterns. They were displayed in the hallway for the whole school to see, and they look great there.
