Recreating a Masterpiece

Students had fun recreating a master work of art during the first week of quarantine. I am blown away by these results, who better to be beautiful art than these beautiful kids? 

Red Lion Elementary School Mural

Red Lion Elementary students from grades 1-5 worked together to create this beautiful mural. We brainstormed different elements that we felt were important to our school: Philadelphia's skyline and the Liberty Bell, science, math, Math Kangaroo (an activity our school has been proud to host and participate in for years), art, music, geography, language (nearly all of our lovely RLES students speak at least 2 languages), and of course... reading! The open book is the first page of "Charlotte's Web", a book that every 2nd grader reads at the beginning of the year with Mr. Jay, and the quote coming out of the book reads, "One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world” by Malala Yousafzai

We are so proud of this beautiful mural, and even more proud of our students who are changing the world everyday!
